Hayden Lake has been a getaway for the region since the early 1900s, and its shoreline mixes summer cabins with large historic and modern homes. Whether your windows look over the water, the golf course or the trees, here is how we design window coverings for Hayden Lake homes.
A lake with a long history
The Hayden Lake Country Club opened in 1907 as the Bozanta Tavern, with a clubhouse designed by Kirtland Cutter and the first 18-hole golf course in Idaho. Nearby, the F. Lewis Clark Mansion, completed in 1910, was then the most expensive home in Idaho. That history still shows in the lake's architecture, from classic lodge-style homes to modern houses built around the view.
Glare and heat off the water
Water reflects sunlight, so lakefront rooms get glare from the sky and from the lake itself, especially late in the day. Solar shades cut glare and heat and reduce the UV light that fades floors and furniture while you still see the lake. Darker solar fabrics usually give the clearest view out.
Motorized shades for big windows
Tall windows, clerestories and great rooms are where motorized shades earn their keep. Group every shade into one scene, let them lower before the afternoon glare and rise at sunset, or control them by remote, app or voice. With the smart hub they work with Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple Home, and you can run them from your phone when you're away. Rechargeable battery motors mean no new wiring in a finished home.
Custom drapery for warmth and privacy
For living rooms, bedrooms and the evening, custom drapery adds warmth, softness and privacy. Our draperies are handcrafted by Carole Fabrics, with more than 5,000 fabrics to choose from, and can run on a motorized track so even very wide or tall windows open and close at a touch. Layered over a solar or blackout shade, drapery gives you the view by day and a warm, private room at night.
Historic and cabin-style homes
In older homes and cabins, we choose treatments that respect the original trim and window proportions: inside-mounted woven wood shades, Roman shades and cellular shades that insulate drafty glass without hiding the character of the house.
Free measuring and installation
Every project starts with a free in-home design consultation led by Layla, our lead designer, who has more than 20 years of interior design experience. We bring samples to your home, measure every window ourselves and install everything with our own local team. Measuring and installation are free, and most of our products carry a lifetime warranty.
