Motorized drapery is the most elegant way to handle wide windows, sliding doors and tall glass. The drapery glides on a motorized track, so there's nothing to pull, nothing to wear out by hand, and your fabric stays clean and evenly stacked.
How it works
Your custom drapery hangs on a motorized track system powered by Somfy technology. It can be controlled with a remote, your smartphone or a voice assistant, and added to an existing smart-home system. Set it to open in the morning and close at sunset, or close the whole room with one tap.
Where it makes the most sense
- Wide windows and walls of glass, where pulling drapery by hand is awkward
- Sliding patio doors you open and close every day
- Tall or hard-to-reach windows
- Media rooms and bedrooms, paired with blackout lining
- Protecting fine furniture, rugs and art from afternoon sun on a schedule
Pairing with motorized shades
Many clients motorize both a shade and the drapery in front of it. The shade handles daily light control, the drapery adds softness and evening privacy, and both can be grouped into one scene. See all motorization options and what they work with.
Choosing a pleat for a motorized track
Ripplefold is the most common heading for motorized drapery because it glides smoothly and stacks neatly. Other headings may be possible depending on the track and fabric. Read our pleat styles guide.
Power and installation
Motorized drapery tracks need power at the window, so we plan the track and power location with you, or with your builder or electrician on a new build or remodel. Every system is measured, installed and set up by our own team.
