How Much Do Motorized Shades Cost in Spokane?

Motorized window shades in a Spokane home

The honest answer: it depends on your windows. Two homes on the same street can get very different quotes, and a price you see online almost never matches what you actually pay. Here's what really sets the price, so you know what to expect before anyone walks through your door.

Why there's no one-size price

Every motorized shade is made to order for one specific window. The width, height, fabric, motor and controls are all chosen for your home, so a "starting at" price online usually leaves out the things that matter most. That's why we measure first and quote second.

The five things that set the price

1. Window size

Bigger shades need more fabric and a stronger motor. A tall great-room window in Liberty Lake or a wide patio door costs more than a standard bedroom window.

2. The style and fabric you choose

Roller and solar shades are usually the most budget-friendly to motorize. Cellular, zebra, Roman and woven wood shades vary more with fabric, light control and energy features like blackout or top-down/bottom-up.

3. How it's powered

A rechargeable battery motor needs no wiring and no electrician, which keeps installation simple. Plug-in power is a great choice for very large shades or windows you use all day.

4. How you want to control it

A remote or a simple motorized wand is the most affordable way in. Adding the smart hub for phone app, voice control with Alexa, Google or Apple Home, and schedules adds to the total, but one hub runs many shades.

5. How many windows you motorize

Most of our clients don't motorize every window. We usually recommend it where it makes the biggest difference: tall and hard-to-reach windows, big sunny living rooms, bedrooms and media rooms. That keeps the project on budget without giving up the convenience.

Is motorization worth it in a Spokane home?

  • Hot summers: shades can close on a schedule before afternoon sun heats the house and fades your floors and furniture.
  • Cold winters: closing insulating cellular shades at sunset helps hold in heat.
  • Hard-to-reach windows: no more ladders or long poles.
  • Safety: no cords for children or pets.
  • Peace of mind: shades open and close while you're away, so your home looks lived-in.

Ways to keep the cost down

  • Motorize the windows that matter most and keep the rest cordless.
  • Start with remotes and add the smart hub later.
  • Do all your windows in one project so we measure and install once.
  • Ask about current offers when you book.
